  • Upgrade Moodle LMS to version 2.7 in July 2015

In order to update the functions and features of the new version of Moodle to meet teaching and learning needs, an upgrade from version 2.3 to 2.7 will be conducted from 26 to 27 July 2015 inclusive. During the upgrade, course content will be converted and transferred to the new platform. Moodle version 2.7 is a Long Term Support (LTS) release and will have more support from Moodle.org in terms of bug fixes. Moving to this LTS release will provide a stable version for the coming few years.  The new version is more friendly to mobile devices. The change is not drastic but there are some new features.   For the new features of Moodle 2.7, please kindly refer to https://moodle.ied.edu.hk/course/view.php?id=15790.  Staff using Moodle to deliver courses might want to know more about the new functions and, if needed, attend training workshops offered by LTTC - http://www.lttc.ied.edu.hk/?p=2892 .

For technical enquiries, please contact Mr. Rocky Yip (x6552) of OCIO. For user support enquiries, please contact Mr. Wilson Cheng (x7043) of LTTC.
